Toast: Masahito Fujii, Chairman of the Hokuryu Town Chamber of Commerce
“Congratulations on holding the training session for women members of the Sorachi Block Chamber of Commerce today.
We would like to thank all our female members for their ongoing understanding and cooperation in the Chamber of Commerce's activities.
I am truly pleased that Chairman Hirono and all the female members from each town have come together to hold such a grand event in Hokuryu Town.
I also thought that Mr. Terauchi's lecture at the training session just now was an excellent one. Since Mr. Terauchi came to Hokuryu, he has been sharing information about the town, businesses, and organizational activities of Hokuryu. I hope that today's training session will be put to good use in your towns and projects.
I would like to propose a toast to the continued success and development of the Sorachi Women's Division, and to the good health and success of all those participating today! Cheers!!!"

Introducing the pride and specialties of each town
The women's division of the Sorachi Block Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the five towns in the North Block are filled with love for their towns and will be introducing the pride and joy of their towns and their local specialties.
Uryu Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Division
"Uryu Town celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1989. As of the end of August, the population was 2,108, a lonely rural area. The population is steadily declining. However, Uryu Town, which retains its rich natural environment, is a town full of attractions, including high-quality local products and magnificent marshes where you can enjoy the scenery.
When you think of Uryu Town, the first thing that comes to mind is the Uryu Swamp. In 1990, the Uryu Swamp area, a natural feature that represents Shokanbetsu-Teuri-Yagishiri Quasi-National Park, was designated a registered wetland under the Ramsar Convention. It is recognized as a globally precious natural site and is visited by many tourists. Please come and visit Uryu Swamp.
The agriculture is centered around rice cultivation, and this is the production area of Amuryu rice, "Yumepirika Nanatsuboshi," which has the highest ranking in the national taste rankings.
Besides rice, local specialties include melons, tomatoes, asparagus, etc. Among them, the Amuryu melon has a green flesh and a refined sweetness, and is comparable to the Yubari melon in terms of deliciousness. Are you the only one who thinks so?
We brought a sake called "Uryu." It's made with 100% "Ginpu" rice grown in Uryu Town, which is deliciously grown in the clear waters of the Shokanbetsu mountain range. It has a rich flavor that makes an impact the moment you put it in your mouth, and a light aftertaste.
Please come and win the bingo and take home a prize. Thank you very much."
Chishibetsu Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Division
"Chishibetsu Town is home to Cubic Connection, the largest outdoor playground in Japan. Next door is Chikkuru, an indoor playground where children can play safely.
Specialties include "Dried Pasta," a chewy pasta made with dough using wheat flour from Hokkaido and rice flour from Chishibetsu Town, with broccoli powder kneaded into it; a rich sauce made with "Little Red Riding Hood" tomato juice from Chishibetsu Town; and "Yumepirika Rice Flour Financiers" from Chishibetsu Town.
Our potato chips are made with ingredients from Hokkaido, so please give them a try."
Imobeushi Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Division
"Imobeushicho is a peaceful place with no disasters.
This time, I brought along the pickled vegetables base "Nigohachizuke Yonago-chan." It is a fermented food made with rice from Imobeushicho and contains no additives, making it a very healthy pickled vegetable base.
Next year, the new Pepel Hot Spring will be unveiled. I think it will be the best hot spring in the area, so please come and enjoy it."
"This is Daikokuya from Imobeushi Town. As Halloween is approaching, we have set up prizes this time around with Halloween cookies as the main focus. Enjoy!"
Numata Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Division
"Numata Town, the northernmost town in the Sorachi region, is the home of the 'Yotaka Andon Festival! Yoiyasaa!'
Our tomato juice is made from tomatoes grown outdoors by contracted producers, without the need for supports, and exposed to ample sunlight to turn red. High in sugar and lycopene, they are packed with the delicious flavors of the season. Our ketchup, made with ripe Hokkaido tomatoes, is a proud product of being simmered for three hours with spices and onions.
We also stock "Yukimachi Coffee," which is made from high-quality Arabica beans that are stored at low temperatures for over 1,500 hours and aged in Numata Town's unique snow room. By aging the coffee in the snow room, the acidity and bitterness are moderately reduced, resulting in a mild, easy-to-drink flavor.
The set also includes an aronia drink, a beautiful ruby-colored red shiso drink, and carrot juice made with Hokkaido carrot aroma red. Please give it a try. Thank you."
