As Hokuryu Town is slowly enveloped in a soft blanket of snow, in stark contrast to the silvery world outside the window, vegetables bearing memories of the sun are blooming vibrantly on our table.
Winter silence and colorful dining table
Many people donated home-grown vegetables (leeks, burdock, potatoes, onions, radishes, Chinese cabbage, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, etc., as well as precious new year's rice!) that were lovingly grown in the homes of Hokuryu Town. We are truly grateful. Thank you!
This year's Christmas Eve dinner will be served with fresh vegetables delivered directly from the fields. The scent of the earth and the crisp winter air have captured the "Blessings of Hokuryu" in each dish.
Main dish: Sun-braised paella
The golden-colored paella, reminiscent of the sunflowers you see in the summer, sizzles in a heavy iron skillet. Home-grown broccoli and peppers dance hand in hand with seafood. The moment you open the lid, the steam that rises is the very scent of happiness. A winter treat that will warm your chilled body from the inside out.
Salad: Red and Green Christmas Wreath
"Merry Christmas!" You can almost hear this voice calling out in this wreath salad. The jewel-like cherry tomatoes and fresh frilly lettuce create a circle, expressing the wish for everlasting happiness.
A sprinkling of snowy cheese creates a little winter fantasy on your plate.
Side dishes: add a touch of fun
Another salad features cute kamaboko Santa Claus and a tree peeking out.
The potato salad, full of beans that exudes the power of the earth, is dressed up just for this evening.
The softly colored green onion and burdock soup is topped with a single nut (almond in oil).
With every spoonful, the natural sweetness of the vegetables fills your mouth, and it feels as if your soul is gently melting away.
We are grateful for the precious life energy of the vegetables carefully grown in the fertile fields of Hokuryu Town, and we offer this warm and wonderful moment of bliss, filled with the exquisite deliciousness of our vegetables, with boundless love, gratitude, and prayers...
