56th Hokusho Road Race Tournament - Event Guidelines
Why not take a refreshing run through the sunflower village, promoting good harvests, good health, and deepening friendships while enjoying the clean scenery of Hokuryu Town, the "sunflower town" with the sun on your side?

4. Venue:
・Hokuryu Town Sunflower Village (next to Hokuryu Junior High School)
5. Events:
(1) Half-Japanese: General male and female (high school students and above)
(2) 10km: General men and women (high school students and above)
(3) 5km: Adults (high school students and above), Junior high school students (parental consent required)
(4) 3km: General public (high school students and above), elementary school students (no gender or grade restrictions) (parental consent required)
(5) 3km: Parent-child pairs (parents and grandparents): Children must be in the third grade of elementary school or younger, and parent-child pairs must hold hands and reach the finish line.
6. Participation fee:
Adults and men: 2,500 yen (3km pair: 3,000 yen) (elementary and junior high school students: 1,000 yen)
7. Time Limit:
・2 hours 30 minutes (from the starting gun)
・Any competitor who exceeds the time limit may be asked to stop the race. In that case, please follow the instructions of the race staff and get back in your car.
8. How to apply:
(1) Please contact the secretariat by phone, fax, postcard, or email to let us know your name and address. Minors must apply with parental consent.

(2) The secretariat will send you the "Tournament Participation Guidelines" and "Tournament Participation Fee Postal Transfer Form" by mail.
(3) Please pay the tournament participation fee using the postal transfer form you received.
★ For organizational reasons, please use only one postal transfer form per person (transferring for two or more people at once may result in errors).
(4) Your participation application will be confirmed by the postal transfer form that will be sent to the secretariat.
9. Pledge:
(1) I pledge to take full responsibility for any accidents that occur during the tournament that are my fault. (Junior high school students and younger must have a parent's signature; there is a space for parents to fill out the transfer form.)
(2) False declaration of age or gender, or participation by anyone other than the racer (illegible entry) will not be permitted and will be cancelled.
(3) The rights to publish videos, photos, articles, records, etc. of the race on television, in newspapers, magazines, on the Internet, etc., belong to the organizer.
(4) Participation fees will not be refunded after application.
10. Application Period:

11. Awards:
- Top 6 in each category (prize: 10kg-2kg of Hokuryu Town rice) Top 3 in the elementary and junior high school division (sports gift certificate)
* All participants will receive a T-shirt (elementary and junior high school students will receive a book voucher)
* Elementary school students in a 3km pair will receive a book voucher
* There are no completion certificates or record certificates.
* After the competition, a "record list" will be posted and published on the Hokuryu Town Portal at a later date.

13. Other:
(1) As the organizers, we will take every possible measure to prevent accidents by stationing voluntary traffic controllers at key locations, but we ask that participants and supporters also follow traffic rules and cooperate to avoid accidents. Please be careful when driving during the Sunflower Festival, as tourists may be crossing the road.
(2) Supporters are not permitted to run alongside the runners. Thank you for your cooperation.
(3) The organizers will not be held responsible for any accidents that occur during the competition. Please be sure to take out personal accident insurance, take care of your health, and enjoy the competition.
(4) If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions on the day, the participation fee will not be refunded. However, participation prizes will be distributed at the venue during the registration period. Please note that no refunds will be given for cancellations or non-participation after application.
(5) Please keep your belongings safe at the venue.
(6) Please make your own arrangements for transportation, accommodation, etc.

(7) Automatic measurement
・Measurements are taken using a timing chip. Please attach the chip to your shoelaces.
・For parent-child pairs, the parent must wear the chip.
・Chips will be collected by staff after you reach the finish line.
Please note that if the item is lost or not returned, you will be charged 1,000 yen.
