Friday, October 7, 2022

This is the harvest of "Emimaru" dry-field rice, which is being undertaken by Takada Yukiyoshi, a resident of Hokuryu Town.

The time has come to harvest the rice, which is now plump and full of fruit, covering the rice fields of four cho.

With its head bowed heavily, the rice ears sway gently in the strong autumn wind. Emimaru has grown beautifully and is bearing beautiful fruit.

"For the first year, I think it went rather well. I followed your instructions and was able to grow the crops. I think the yield is pretty good.

"The most difficult part was dealing with weeds. The timing of spraying herbicide (three to four times) was difficult. Next year, I'll try to time the herbicide spraying in a more creative way and do my best to reduce the weeds," says Takada Yukiki.

After the harvest was completed, the yield per hectare was 8.2 bales per 10a.

With heartfelt gratitude for the rice ears brimming with vitality!

With boundless love, gratitude, and prayers for "Emimaru," who coexists with weeds in the great outdoors, watched over by the great light of the sun, pure water, and fertile land, yet grows strong and free without succumbing to them...
