Recently, Keiko Ozaki (Hokuryu Town Council Member) and Director of the NPO Akarui Nouhou (Bright Farming Methods) has handcrafted masks featuring the Hokuryu Town logo, a gingham check pattern (designed by Makoto Umehara).
A few years ago, Ozaki received instruction on how to make masks from Tsukigata Town Council member Yumiko Miyashita, and has now created masks as a preventative measure against COVID-19. They have been worn by Mayor Yutaka Sano, Hokuryu Town Council Chairman Yasuhiro Sasaki, and Deputy Mayor Toshimasa Takahashi.
At the first regular assembly session of 2020, Mayor Sano, Chairman Sasaki, Council Member Ozaki, and Deputy Mayor Takahashi attended the assembly wearing handmade gingham check masks.
Wearing masks with the Hokuryu Town logo mark, a gingham check pattern, they encouraged each other to work hard to build a town that can withstand the coronavirus.
No matter what the situation, your heart will always be as bright and cheerful as a sunflower!
