Opening Ceremony
Greetings from the Chairman: Hokuryu Town Board of Education, Superintendent Arima Kazushi
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to participate in this 54th Women's Recreational Tournament today.
Last year, this tournament could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even now, there are around 10 infected people in Asahikawa and Sapporo, but we are very pleased that we can hold the tournament this year for the first time in two years.
This year was also the year of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
During the fifth wave of infections, the success of the Japanese people was the only source of comfort. I am pleased that the infections are now coming to an end.
Today, we hope to create a huge atmosphere at the Hokuryu Town Rural Environment Improvement Center Gymnasium that will melt the snow outside, just like the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
There will be winners and losers in each event, but I hope that you will not get too hung up on that and will instead compete in a fun and harmonious atmosphere.
Although attendance has decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that you will help liven up the tournament with loud applause, rather than loud cheering, even through your masks.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the sports instructors and women's group committee members for their generous cooperation in this tournament, and I would like to conclude my closing remarks by saying, 'I hope you all have a great time today.'" said Superintendent Arima.
Return of the trophy
- Last year's winners: Blue Team, runner-up: Yellow Team, 3rd place: Red Team, 4th place: White Team
Attention Chief Referee: Sports Promotion Committee Chairman Okino Manabu
"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, two events have been changed.
The cardboard relay becomes harder as you get closer to the end. It will be even harder for the last athlete, so please consider the order of the athletes when competing.
For other events, you can take your time regardless of your number, so thank you for your cooperation.
The fourth event, "Sekisho-Yaburi," involves running. Currently, elementary and junior high school students are allowed to remove their masks during physical education classes. If you feel uncomfortable during exercise, you may do so.
We will also be preparing prizes for each participant, so we hope each team will receive one," said Chairman Okino.

Comments from the Superintendent of Education: Kazushi Arima, Superintendent of Education, Hokuryu Town Board of Education
"The event finished without incident in a harmonious atmosphere. Congratulations to the Red Team, who won first place. Congratulations to the Yellow Team, who came in second by just one point, and to the third and fourth place winners. I congratulate you all from the bottom of my heart for your achievements. I am also grateful that the event finished without any injuries.
With the snowfall that began on the 24th, the outside has become a completely wintery landscape. Winter is a difficult time for maintaining and improving physical fitness.
As I mentioned two years ago, I hope you will make effective use of the Rural Environment Improvement Center Gymnasium, and also make effective use of the gym facilities, such as the treadmills on the second floor, to help you maintain and improve your physical fitness this winter.
"Thank you to all the sports promoters for your hard work today. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you all and conclude my comments on the tournament. Thank you all for your hard work," said Superintendent Arima.
Fun big lottery (for everyone)
Prizes will be awarded based on the lottery ticket numbers distributed at the reception. Since the tournament was canceled last year, this year's prizes are said to be more luxurious.
The shining ladies of Hokuryu Town are bursting with energy!
With boundless love, gratitude, and prayers, we wish everyone a wonderful women's recreational tournament where they could enjoy sports games and share their joy together.
