Wa Neighborhood Association Elderly Club 2021 project “Road Cleaning”
On the day, despite the cold wind, about 20 members participated. They picked up trash and cans along Route 94 from the Wa Neighborhood Association garbage station to Hokuryu Bridge, as well as on town roads, helping to clean up the road environment.
Along Route 94
Picking up trash in irrigation channels
Each participant brought a garbage bag and collected garbage, cans, pieces of wood, etc. that had fallen on the banks and irrigation channels along a road about 2.4 km one way.
The collected garbage filled the bed of a light truck!!!
After cleaning, everyone gather together!
Message from Chairman Nobuyuki Kanayama
After the activity, we received words from Chairman Kanayama Nobuyuki.
"Thank you for coming out in the cold today. The town has become cleaner, and the hearts of the people have become cleaner too.
It's the season to unpack in this agricultural town. I hope this year will be a bountiful harvest, that everyone stays healthy, and that everyone be careful of traffic safety and COVID-19! Thank you."
Drinks and sweet bread
Finally, drinks and sweet bread were distributed to everyone and the event was dismissed.
We send our boundless love, gratitude, and prayers to the wonderful spirit of service and fun, friendly activities in which townspeople who love their town so much work together to beautify the town's environment.
