The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital website, operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun Press (Sapporo), has published an article (dated January 10th) entitled "Incumbent Mayor Minami Announces Candidacy for Hamatonbetsu Town Mayoral Election: 'Continuing the Achievements of His First Term'," which we would like to introduce to you.

The article states, "Minami is from Kitaryū Town in the Sorachi region. After graduating from Tohoku Fukushi University, he worked for a private company before joining Hamatonbetsu Town Hall in 1982. He served as general affairs manager and deputy mayor, and was first elected in the 2022 mayoral election, beating out another newcomer."
