Every single grain is the pride of Hokuryu Town. Welcome to the harvest festival of Japan's No. 1 village.
The season has arrived, when golden ears of rice sway in the gentle autumn breeze. Autumn is the most splendid season of the year in Hokuryu Town, Hokkaido.
The Hokuryu Sunflower Rice, which has been painstakingly grown by farmers in this area, is finally arriving on our tables as the new rice.
A special day to celebrate the harvest and share gratitude for the past year.Saturday, September 27thThis is the "JA Kitasorachi Hokuryu Branch New Rice Thanksgiving Festival" to be held.
This is not just a sales event. It is a place for heart-to-heart communication, where the "thank you" of the producers and the "deliciousness" of the eaters intersect with smiles. It is an annual celebration where you can experience the "spirit of harmony" that Hokuryu Town has so cherished.

*If you would like to have your order shipped to a local area, you can do so at Minoritch Hokuryu.
*On the 27th (Sat), it will also be sold at Cocowa and Sunflower Hokuryu Onsen. On the 28th (Sun), it will only be sold in stores at Minoritch Hokuryu and Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen.
The star of the show is the new crop of "Sunflower Rice," which won the Japan Agriculture Award Grand Prize.
Rice farming in Hokuryu Town is not just about producing delicious rice. The entire region practices clean agriculture. Their dedicated efforts and the "spirit of harmony" of supporting each other within the community were recognized, leading to the town being awarded the prestigious "46th Japan Agriculture Award Grand Prize."
