The pure white peak of the Daisetsuzan mountain range, "Asahidake," stands out clearly against the blue mountain range to the east.
On the other side, in the blue western sky, Mt. Keidai towers majestically.
Every time I see Mt. Asahidake and Mt. Keidaidake, which exude a mysterious and overwhelming power, the spirit of the late Professor Minoru Yoneda comes back to life.
The late Mr. Yoneda Shigeru was once a teacher at Hekisui Elementary School in Hokuryu Town, where he taught children how to ski and participated in the national cross-country skiing championships every year.
Furthermore, he was a "super iron man" that Hokuryu Town was proud of, having traveled to the Arctic and Antarctic, as well as the Chinese desert and Lake Baikal in winter.
Early in the morning, Professor Yoneda headed towards Mount Asahi to the east and Mount Keidai to the west, taking a deep breath and saying, "Oh, I can see them! I'm going to have a great day today!"
He always proudly told us about the splendor of the mountains that he could see from his home, Mt. Asahi and Mt. Keidai.
The presence of the majestic towering mountains, Mt. Keidai and Mt. Asahi, is a moment when you can feel the great energy of Professor Yoneda's words, "Be energetic today too!!!"
