The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital website, operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun Press (Sapporo), has published an article (dated September 26th) entitled "Maintaining the production base in preparation for emergencies, relying on exports and livestock feed in peacetime <Agriculture at a crossroads: Food in crisis - why did rice disappear?> ⑤" which we would like to introduce to you.

The article states, "Tamaru and about 40 other farmers from Horokanai Town, Fukagawa City, and Hokuryu Town in the Sorachi region established the Kitasorachi WCS Council this spring. They have agreed to supply approximately 2,000 tons of WCS per year to Novels, a major livestock company (Kamishihoro Town in the Tokachi region)."
