Sunflower Bloomer
In November 1990, a call for submissions for a sunflower character was made, and in March 1991, the design by Kamono Hiroe, a member of the Kyoei Neighborhood Association, was selected.
AgriFighter North Dragon
During the budget assessment for fiscal year 2013, Makoto Takagi, who was then in charge of the agricultural management department of the JA Kitasorachi Hokuryu branch, and Hirotaka Okubo, the branch chief, came to petition for support in creating the North Dragon to promote the town and its specialty products such as rice. This was an idea that Makoto Takagi had been considering.
The JA Youth Division took the lead, and the Hokuryu Town Chamber of Commerce Youth Division and young town hall staff worked together to make the project a success.
