④ Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen
This hot spring inn is located along National Route 275 and is the 17th roadside station in Hokkaido. Sanhua Park Hokuryu Onsen opened in June 1992, and the accommodation facility was completed in October 1994.
The hotel has a restaurant and a shop, and features a total of 17 rooms, including an open-air bath with 100% of free-flowing hot spring water, a large bath, a cold bath, a bubble bath, and a reclining bath with a jacuzzi. The hotel reopened on March 17, 2018, after renovations.
⑤ View Hill
A famous viewing spot where you can get a panoramic view of the rural landscape of Kita-Sorachi and the Daisetsu mountain range.
The Observatory Hill is located 550m west of Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen in the field of the Kitaame Farmland Development at an altitude of about 170m. It offers a panoramic view of Kita Sorachi, the northernmost part of the Ishikari Plain, and the Daisetsu Mountains (2,291m above sea level), which is known as the roof of Hokkaido.
Mt. Shokanbetsu (1,461m) and Mt. Keidai (1,060m) in the mountain range are visible. Snow remains on these mountains until the end of June.
⑥ Dragon God's Onko
It is an evergreen coniferous tree called yew or araragi, and onko is its name in the Ainu language.
It is a giant tree that is approximately 800 years old, 11 meters tall, and has a trunk circumference of 488 cm. According to a survey conducted by the Environment Agency in 1989, it was ranked 9th in the country by tree species.
