In Hokuryu Town, a "child monitoring supporter" project is being carried out.
"Child Watch Supporter" project has been running for 18 years
This project began 18 years ago, on August 1, 2006 (Heisei 18).
Purpose: Watching over students by talking to them and accompanying them on their way to and from school
The Child Watch Supporter program aims to provide support for children by providing supervision such as talking to and accompanying them as they go to and from school, by conducting crime prevention patrols to prevent crime and accidents, and by reporting to the police and schools, exchanging information, and interacting with children.
The group initially had over 100 members, but due to retirement due to aging, the group is now made up of 65 supporters.
