View this post on Instagram We were featured in the Hokkaido Shimbun newspaper, Chubu-Kita Sorachi. We hadn't announced it here, but we were recently featured on the Hokuryu Town portal site. ☺️ We practice forestry, focusing on sustainable methods that utilize the bounty of the mountains while protecting nature. We moved to Hokuryu Town as a couple in March of this year, and in April, my husband started his own business, Shizenshita. After a period of preparation, we began clearing the mountains in June, and from July until now, we have been building mountain paths and felling the trees along the way. Our work has only just begun. We are currently in the process of reevaluating the value of the various materials hidden in the mountains and turning them into products. We are preparing to begin selling birch bark in September. We will continue to work hard, little by little, to meet your expectations, so we appreciate your continued support. # Forestry # Small forestry # Hokkaido # Forest # Forest # Hokkaido timber # Firewood # Hodagi # Hokkaido forestry # Self-logging forestry # Sustainable living # Living with nature # Satoyama management # Country living # Forestry for living with nature # Under natural conditions under natureA post shared by (@shizenka2020) – September 4, 2020, 4:12 AM PDT
