The late Mr. Tsuyoshi Matsunaga was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays [Hokuryu Town Website]

The late Matsunaga Takeshi, a former Hokuryu Town Council member who passed away on November 2nd last year, has been awarded the Special Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, Sixth Rank.

Mr. Matsunaga has served as a member of the Hokuryu Town Council since 1991, making significant contributions to the promotion of local autonomy for 32 years.During this time, he served as vice-chairman for four years from April 2007, and also worked hard in managing the council.

At the ceremony held in the mayor's office on February 19th, Mayor Sano gave a speech and handed over the certificate and medal to the relatives.

On the same day, the late Mr. Matsunaga's family donated 1 million yen to the town to express their gratitude for the support the town had provided to them.
