The Hokkaido Shimbun Digital website, operated by the Hokkaido Shimbun newspaper (Sapporo), has published an article (dated February 4th) entitled "Newcomer Sasaki Wins Hokuriku Town Mayoral Election," which we would like to introduce to you.

The article states, "This is the first election campaign in 12 years since 2012. The number of eligible voters on the day was 1,443, and the number of people who voted was 1,258. The voter turnout was 87.18%, 4.48 points lower than the previous election. There were 7 invalid votes."

The results of the Hokuryu Town mayoral election were broadcast on Hokuryu Town Disaster Prevention Radio today (around 7:55 p.m.).

The results of the Kitaryū town mayoral election held today were: a total of 1,258 votes cast, of which 1,251 were valid and 7 were invalid.

The number of votes received by each candidate was 710 for Sasaki Yasuhiro and 541 for Kitakiyo Hirokuni, and as a result, Sasaki Yasuhiro was elected.
