View this post on Instagram Continued # Birch Bark Harvesting The other day, I attended a birch bark craft workshop in Obihiro. The instructor, @koubouameiro, and his assistant, @kimoko_toppy, came to see the birch trees in our mountains. I'm truly grateful for the knowledge they shared with me, from how to harvest bark efficiently to storage and processing know-how, all the knowledge they gained from working with birch trees for so long. I was deeply impressed by their attitude of valuing their vision and moving the times forward, rather than their own personal gain or loss. After returning home, the two of us immediately began preparing the bark we'd harvested that day. We'll continue preparations so that we can deliver the bark to the artists in good condition. #koubouameiro#Ameiro Workshop#White Birch#Birch Bark Crafts#Ame-colored Crafts#Forestry#Small Forestry#Hokkaido#Hokkaido#Forest#Forests#Hokkaido Forestry#Self-Logging Forestry#Sustainable Living#Living in Nature#Forestry for Living with Nature#Under Nature under natureA post shared by (@shizenka2020) – August 9, 2020, 6:35 AM PDT
