There are also a surprising variety of designs! There are character designs and even manhole cards.

We found four main types of manhole cover designs in Hokuryu Town!
This is a circular manhole cover decorated with a cute sunflower, Saki-chan, the Hokuryu town emblem, the Hokkaido emblem around the former Hokkaido Prefectural Government Office building, and the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation mark.
