The theme for this year, 2022, is "Peace." In this chaotic world where war and recession continue, this illumination is a prayer for peace to come to the world as soon as possible!
Preparations begin around May every year, and the garden is carefully set up one by one. The morning glories, whose vines can reach up to 6m, are watered every day, and the garden is tended to, with loving care continuing until the end of September.
The power source is solar powered, making it eco-friendly. When it gets dark, the light will automatically turn on and blink.
Every night, while enjoying his coffee after dinner, Setsya Suzuki inspects and observes the garden's illuminations, his thoughts running through his mind.
The night illuminations are so gorgeous and beautiful that passersby turn back to take a look. A grandmother who will be 90 years old next year visited the other day and was so touched that she said, "I got a souvenir for my maid!"
For Setsya, one of the things he enjoys is chatting with visitors!
"This will be our eighth year, and every year we add more decoration sets. It's a lot of work, from preparation to cleanup, but this year we had three or four people help out, which was a great help. The more work we do, the greater the joy, and as long as I'm healthy, I want to enjoy it to the fullest!" said Suzuki Setuya with a gentle, kind smile.
