The lineup of three types of craft beer (low-malt beer) "HOKURYU CRAFT" has been completed, using agricultural products from Hokuryu Town: sunflower seeds, Kurosengoku soybeans, and yellow small watermelon.
Sales began today, Friday, August 5th, at the Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen Shop and Minoritch Hokuryu 2nd Store (inside the Himawari Tourist Center).
This craft beer, "HOKURYU CRAFT," was developed jointly by Hokuryu residents Akihiro Adachi (CEO of Ryusei Farm Co., Ltd.) and Minoru Nagai (Chairman of the Kita Mizuho Producers Association and director of the JA Kitasorachi Hokuryu District).
The lineup includes recycled products from Hokuryu Town, such as sunflower seed oil residue for sunflower oil, scrap beans left over from sorting Kurosengoku soybeans, and discarded yellow sunflower watermelons.
There are two different label designs for each. If you're visiting Hokuryu Town, be sure to enjoy some craft beer while admiring the sunflowers!

Sunflower Biscuits
The beer is named "Biscuit" because it uses biscuit malt as one of its ingredients, giving it a nutty, slightly bitter biscuit-like taste.
