January 1, 2022 (Saturday) Happy New Year
A prayer was held at Shinryu Shrine in Hokuryu Town at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 1st. This year, Reiwa 4 (2022), is the year of Mizunoe Tora (Water Tiger), and the year of Gokou no Tora (Five Yellow Tiger), which occurs once every 36 years.
This year, the 39th New Year's Day Marathon 2022 has been cancelled due to deep snow on the roads and unstable, slippery conditions.
Everyone gathered at Shinryu Shrine and prayed for the early end of the epidemic, as well as for a good harvest, safe travels, no accidents, and safety in their homes.
