We have received information from the JA Kitasorachi Kitaryū Branch regarding this year's 2021 Melon and Watermelon Festival, so we would like to introduce it to you.
This year, 2021, the Sunflower Melon Direct Sales Event will be held on Saturday, August 7th from 8:30am to noon, and the Sunflower Watermelon Direct Sales Event will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 8:30am to noon.
This year, we will also be offering nationwide delivery of melons on August 7th and watermelons on August 14th.
The date of the Sunflower Melon Direct Sales Event will be brought forward due to harvest and shipping issues.
The Melon and Watermelon Festival has been held every year on August 14th, but last year in 2020, due to the impact of COVID-19, it was called a "direct sales event" rather than a "festival."
However, due to the harvesting and shipping of sunflower melons, it has been decided that from next year, 2022, the direct sales event for "sunflower melons and sunflower watermelons" will be held on a different date.
Originally, this year, 2021, was scheduled to be the last year that the Sunflower Melon and Sunflower Watermelon events would be held simultaneously.
However, due to the continued good weather, the melons in Hokuryu Town have grown quickly, and unfortunately we will not be able to prepare melons ready for shipment on Saturday, August 14th.
The Sunflower Melon Direct Sales Event will be held on Saturday, August 7th from 8:30am to noon, and the Sunflower Watermelon Direct Sales Event will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 8:30am to noon.
The JA Kitasorachi Kitaryū Branch has decided to hold the direct sale of sunflower melons on Saturday, August 7th, and the direct sale of sunflower watermelons on Saturday, August 14th as usual.
We hope you will come and try the sunflower melons and watermelons that have been lovingly cultivated by the people of Hokuryu. All of the agricultural professionals in Hokuryu look forward to seeing you there.
