On Friday, May 14th, all 32 students from first to third grade at Hokuryu Town Hokuryu Junior High School (Principal Kodama Tsuyoshi) planted sunflower seeds from around the world.<\/p>\n

This sowing work is carried out every year as part of a comprehensive learning class by the entire school, led by the Student Council and the Sunflower Committee. The Sunflower Committee's chairperson is third-year student Kanata Kitajima.<\/p>\n

Explanation of sowing work<\/h3>\n

Sunflower Committee Chairman Kitajima Kanade gave an explanation about the sowing process.<\/p>\n

Stretch the cloth tape taut from one end of the furrow to the other, and place wire "bokko" (sticks) at 35cm intervals. Next to the "bokko," use a thick stick to make 5cm deep holes. Sow five seeds in each hole and cover with soil.<\/p>\n

The participants were divided into seven groups, each responsible for three types of sunflower seeds, and they would cultivate a total of 21 types of sunflowers from around the world.<\/p>\n

*Sunflower varieties: Earthwalker, Jade, Van Gogh's Sunflower, Claret, White Night, Solna Lemon, Tortoma, Monet's Sunflower, Solar Power, Procut Red, Lemon Eclair, Russian Sunflower, Floristan, Procut White Moon, Moonwalker, Ruby, Italian, Tohoku Yae, Ruby Express, Procut Plum, Matisse Sunflower<\/p>\n

Principal Tsuyoshi Kodama and Vice Principal Atsushi Sasaki also participated in the work, and parents also came to help.<\/p>\n

\n"Please do your best to grow good sunflower seeds. The wind is strong, so please make sure to plant them securely so they don't get blown away.<\/p>\n

Rather than worrying about whether they will grow or not, plant them with care and with consideration for the surrounding environment. Remove anything that needs to be removed, and instead of thinking it was bad luck in the end, care for them with care so that they bloom neatly in rows. Use careful techniques to make sure they bloom properly.<\/p>\n

Towards a global sunflower guide<\/h2>\n

Under the guidance of their group leader, the students will carefully and diligently carry out their assigned roles and get the job done. From now on, they will be caring for the sunflowers of this beautiful world by watering and weeding them (about once every two weeks for each group), and they will be lovingly and lovingly nurtured.<\/p>\n

When sunflowers from around the world bloom, all the students will act as guides and tell tourists about the charms of sunflowers from around the world (Scheduled for Monday, July 26th to Tuesday, July 27th).<\/p>\n
