\nOn Saturday, April 25th, at 8:00 AM, the Yawara Genki Club (Chairman: Nobuyuki Kanayama) of the Yawara Neighborhood Association in Hokuryu Town held its "2026 Environmental Beautification Cleanup (Garbage Collection)" under clear skies. About 30 members spent an hour collecting garbage over a round trip of approximately 2 km along town and prefectural roads. Mayor Yasuhiro Sasaki also participated, and a truckload of garbage bags was collected. The sight of everyone working up a sweat on the spring grounds shines with pride for Hokuryu Town and the spirit of harmony.\n<\/div>\n

With pride in the spring land\u2014Environmental beautification and cleanup (litter picking) in 2026<\/h2>\n

The members of the Yawara Neighborhood Association's "Yawara Genki Club" gathered quietly but with firm resolve. The day before, strong winds had raged, raising concerns about the weather, but on the day of the event, the temperature was 10\u2103, and it was a calm spring morning with a clear blue sky. It was as if nature was blessing their actions.<\/p>\n

Please note that "Yawara Genki Club" is the new club name officially decided at the Wacho Neighborhood Association General Meeting in January 2026. With this new name, our activities have started again this year with great energy.<\/p>\n

Under the watchful gaze of Mount Edai...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

30 people united in spirit as they walked 2km round trip to pick up trash.<\/h2>\n

Under the leadership of Chairman Nobuyuki Kanayama, about 30 members participated. Each person, armed with a garbage bag and tongs, began a joint cleanup activity of the Wacho neighborhood association, picking up trash along town roads and prefectural roads (2km each way) for about an hour round trip.<\/p>\n

Even in places with unstable footing, such as beside rice paddies and on the slopes of embankments, the participants moved with remarkable agility. They swiftly collected cans, wood scraps, and plastic waste one after another. Their movements reflected the physical strength they had cultivated over many years living in this land, and the strong hearts they had for their town.<\/p>\n

Cherry blossom buds beginning to swell, clusters of horsetails, and Adonis amurensis flowers announcing the happiness of spring.<\/p>\n

And then the horsetails sprout vigorously, piercing through the asphalt\u2014my heart trembled at their overwhelming vitality, and at that moment, my hands, picking up trash, touched the life of spring!<\/p>\n

The land of Hokuryu Town warmly welcomes those who come to clean in this way.<\/p>\n

The careful sorting reflects a deep care for the town.<\/h2>\n

The collected waste was carefully and meticulously sorted into combustible waste, non-combustible waste, bottles, cans, and plastic bottles.<\/p>\n

The sheer number of items filled the back of a pickup truck. As everyone carefully sorted through each item, the quiet determination of the Hokuryu townspeople\u2014that "keeping the town clean is simply what it means to be a town resident"\u2014shined through.<\/p>\n

On this day, Mayor Yasuhiro Sasaki also participated as a member of the "Yawara Genki Club." Despite his busy schedule and it being a holiday, he took the time to work hard for the beautification of the town\u2014we express our heartfelt respect and gratitude for his efforts.<\/p>\n

Transcending social standing and carrying the same garbage bags, these people embankments embankments represent the most beautiful example of the "spirit of harmony" in Hokuryu Town.<\/p>\n
