The 7th Hokuryu Kendama Festival, sponsored by the Hokuryu Kendama Club (Representative: Kishi Naoki), was held at the Hokuryu Town Community Center Large Hall from 2pm on Sunday, December 22nd.<\/p>\n

7th Hokuryu Kendama Festival<\/h2>\n

It was an extremely cold day with temperatures reaching a low of -20\u00b0C and a high of -7\u00b0C. 24 members of the Hokuryu Kendama Club participated with great enthusiasm and had a great time playing Kendama.<\/p>\n

The games include a "tube-shaped relay" for pairs, two "hand-held lighthouse" games in which four teams compete for speed, and a "bingo" game with luxurious prizes.<\/p>\n

"Today is the 7th Kendama Festival. Thank you for coming to the Kendama Festival despite the bitterly cold temperatures. Thanks to your support, the Hokuryu Kendama Club has been able to hold this event for the 7th time. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

Today, I hope to have a fun and exciting team match. We have prepared two types of events. The first is "Tube Ken" and the second is "Hand-held Lighthouse." It's a simple game that anyone can play, and I hope everyone will enjoy it and do their best to win prizes based on their ranking.<\/p>\n

This is the seventh time we've held this event, so everyone can have fun playing it seven times. The games are "Tube Ken" and "Lighthouse on Hand" that anyone can play.<\/p>\n

Game 1: Tsutsuken Relay<\/h3>\n

In this game, players form pairs and compete to see who can be the fastest by holding a ball between two cylindrical cones and taking turns going around three cones without dropping the ball.<\/p>\n

The entire team plans a strategy, including how to pair up and the order in which to go around the three cones.<\/p>\n

Game 2: Hand-held Lighthouse Game<\/h3>\n

Six people in a group try to reach the hand-held lighthouses set up on each table at the same time! All six people start at the same time, and the goal is to see who can reach the finish line in the shortest time possible.<\/p>\n

The kendama placed on the six tables each have their own unique characteristics, with some being simple with a square ball and others being more difficult and slippery. The key to winning is figuring out who will be in charge of which kendama.<\/p>\n

Overcoming disappointment by encouraging each other<\/h4>\n

During the game, one of the challengers attempted a difficult Kendama and was unable to complete it, causing the team to push back on the time limit. Frustrated by their inability to do well, the teammates burst into tears, expressing their frustration with their whole bodies.<\/p>\n

The whole team cheered their teammates on with all their might, saying, "It's okay! You did your best! Let's make up the score with this last chance!"<\/p>\n

The teammates overcome their frustration and boldly tackle the next game, creating a moving drama. It was a wonderful moment when everyone empathized with each other's frustration and overcame it, leading to the motivation to take on the next challenge!<\/p>\n
