In February of this year, the Hokuryu Town Sunflower Tourism Association (Chairman: Takada Yukio) published the "Hokuryu Town Sunflower Tourism Association 50th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet" (A4, 123 pages).<\/p>\n

The book carefully documents the footsteps of the people who have been involved in Hokuryu Town's "town revitalization centered around sunflowers."<\/p>\n

The editorial committee (chaired by Masahito Fujii) worked tirelessly to compile this book. Among them, Hideyuki Minami, as chief editor, poured in a great deal of time and effort with great passion to compile a commemorative booklet that exudes the heartfelt feelings of the townspeople. We would like to express our sincere gratitude.<\/p>\n

Hokuryu Town Portal deeply sympathizes with the "feelings for the town" of all those involved, and has received permission to digitize the book in the hopes of making it available to as many people as possible via the Internet.<\/p>\n

To make the text searchable and multilingual, we converted all pages into text rather than publishing them as PDFs, and spent over a month converting them into text. We converted over 100 pages using text conversion software and checked every single character, but we believe there are still typos and omissions. We ask for your understanding in this regard, and would appreciate any contact you may have.<\/p>\n

We hope that the feelings of empathy that are shared with the people of Hokuryu Town, their spirit of harmony and compassion, will spread throughout the world.<\/p>\n
