A social gathering for Hokuryu Town's volunteer group, "Smile Association," was held at the multipurpose hall of Hokuryu Town's commercial revitalization facility, COCOWA, from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11th.<\/p>\n

Approximately 20 members of the Smile Club gathered together and enjoyed a friendly atmosphere and deepened friendships through a video screening of the Kitary\u016b Town Portal by members Noboru and Ikuko Terauchi, a bingo game, and lunch (boxed lunches).<\/p>\n

"This marks the fourth year since the volunteer group Smile Association was founded. This is the second time we have held a social gathering this year. Thank you all for coming.<\/p>\n

This year, we have established a "Game Day" as part of our activities starting in September. I don't think many people are familiar with it, but it will be held twice a month, on the first Monday of the month and the third Wednesday and Monday of the month.<\/p>\n

The September event was held as usual, but from October onwards we hope that you will use the facility as a place to relax and chat. Please feel free to enjoy healthy mahjong, Othello, handicrafts, hand games, brain teasers and more.<\/p>\n

We hope you will all join us on Game Day.<\/p>\n

We currently have 24 members. In order to spread the word to more people, we ask that you please share your knowledge with your friends and help us increase our membership.<\/p>\n

This year, for the first time, I volunteered to help out with the Cosmos Club at Himawari no Sato for three days, on August 1st, 2nd, and 4th, with nine members. I also participated, and by working closely with others, I realized that "tomorrow could happen to me," and learned a lot.<\/p>\n

I believe that volunteering is something that will have a positive impact on you. Coming and participating in this event can have an impact on you, so I hope you will continue to cooperate.<\/p>\n

This multipurpose hall is a shared space, so after your activities are over, we would appreciate it if you would take care to put away the chairs and tables, check for any trash, and clean the floor.<\/p>\n

Today's social gathering will feature a "Hokuryu Town Portal Video Screening" by Mr. and Mrs. Terauchi, a bingo game with great prizes, and a boxed lunch.<\/p>\n

"Today, we have prepared a party full of smiles, hoping to give back in a visible way to all the hard work that everyone has put in over the past four years. I hope that everyone will enjoy themselves until the very end and go home."<\/p>\n
