Aiming to improve the brand power of Hokkaido sake and Hokkaido sake rice<\/h3>\n

The Hokkaido Rice Sake Awards 2023 has been held since 2021 with the aim of raising awareness of the brand power of Hokkaido sake and Hokkaido sake rice, and reviving the declining demand for sake. The judging was held over two days, on September 12th (for the experts, distributors and restaurants category) and September 18th (for the general public), and a total of 293 Hokkaido residents judged the seven winning sakes, including the Grand Prix winner.Source: Hokkaido Prefectural Government Agriculture Department, Agriculture Promotion Bureau, Agricultural Products Promotion Division website<\/a>\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n

All rice used is from varieties cultivated in Hokkaido<\/h3>\n

In addition, the following conditions are imposed on the listing:Source: FY2023 Hokkaido Sake Promotion Plan<\/a>\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n

  1. It must be a "junmai sake" (excluding junmai sake with a rice polishing ratio of 50% or less) made using rice of a variety cultivated in Hokkaido and grown entirely within the prefecture.<\/li>\n
  2. The price must be within 2,500 yen (excluding tax) in a 4-cup bottle. However, the secretariat will cover the cost up to 2,000 yen (excluding tax).<\/li>\n
  3. The sake must be able to continue to be sold in Hokkaido for a certain period of time after the award ends (this can also be done through the company's own online shop).<\/li>\n
  4. Breweries will endeavor to disseminate information via their websites and social media at the time of notification from the secretariat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
