In times of emergency<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n "A person's true character is revealed in times of crisis" As you know, there have been cases of COVID-19 infection in the town, mainly in special nursing homes for the elderly. This is a so-called cluster case.<\/p>\n We are still in the process of responding, but since the first patient was identified, a chain reaction of new cases has occurred, and we have been shocked by the high level of contagiousness.<\/p>\n Thanks to the swift response of the Honmachi facility staff, additional testing and infection prevention measures were immediately implemented.<\/p>\n This is extremely important, and it is no mean feat to be able to deal with something new without any hesitation.<\/p>\n Unlike the general population, residents must continue to receive care and nursing at Honmachi Facility, even if they are symptomatic, unless their condition worsens. This was a sudden and heavy responsibility that fell upon them.<\/p>\n However, at the Honmachi facility, they set up an infectious disease ward, isolated patients, and thoroughly informed staff about infection prevention measures on the same day.<\/p>\n Of course, this seems to have been done with guidance from the public health center and advice from infectious disease experts. Their dedication at a time when there was an absolute shortage of caregivers and nurses due to cases of infection showed their true character.<\/p>\n The coronavirus is highly contagious, so it's natural that everyone is scared.<\/p>\n The nurses, caregivers, and staff at Honmachi Facility are experts, so they are well aware of the horrors of the situation. However, not a single one of them complained, and they treated the residents with even more love than usual.<\/p>\n As I mentioned at the beginning, the problem is whether you can move your body instantly in an emergency. It's easy to think or say it, but it won't help anyone in need.<\/p>\n What was even more surprising was that the employees' expressions were brighter than expected, even though they should have been tired from working hard every day. Over the past few years, we have seen and heard words of gratitude and praise for the courage of those involved in the fight against COVID-19.
\nEveryone is kind and smiling when they are in a good mood, but how they treat others when they are in a difficult situation is up to them.
\nI am writing this the week after Golden Week.<\/p>\n
\nThanks to our swift response, two weeks have now passed since the outbreak, and the number of new cases per day has dropped significantly. However, we still cannot let our guard down.
\nHowever, there is one thing that deserves special mention: the staff who are working hard to provide care, health monitoring, and support.<\/p>\n
\nThis may be because they are focused on "devoting themselves." No one appreciates them, but they all devote themselves with pure hearts, without any consideration for profit or loss.<\/p>\n
\nAt the time, I just thought, "That's true," but when I faced the reality and saw all the staff at Honmachi facility fighting together as one, I couldn't help but admire their courage and express my gratitude.
