6月6日、北竜町の「ひまわりすいか」が初糖度検査を迎えました。高田ファームと杉本ファームで実施された検査では、シャキシャキとした食感と爽やかな甘さが特徴の「ひまわりすいか」が、平均を超える糖度12.8度(高田ファーム)と11.4度(杉本ファーム)を記録。試食でも「甘くて美味しい」と高評価で、6月11日初出荷、12日初競りが決定しました。生産者の愛情がこもった、ひまわりのように輝く絶品すいかが、まもなく皆さんの元へ届けられます。

6月6日(金)午前7時前、「ひまわりすいか」栽培ファームの高田秋光ファーム家と杉本克裕ファームの2戸にて、熟期を迎えた「ひまわりすいか」の初糖度検査が行われました。

Sugar content testing is used to determine the sugar content and ripeness values of watermelons and to determine when to ship them.

We selected ripe watermelons from the greenhouse and measured their weight. We then carefully cut them up, cut out the center of the watermelon, squeezed it, and poured the juice into a sugar content meter to measure it.

The sugar content was measured at 12.8 degrees, which is sweeter than the average sugar content!

Afterwards, a sugar content test was carried out in Sugimoto Katsuhiro's greenhouse, which revealed a sugar content of 11.4 degrees and a satisfactory taste, so the decision was made to ship the fruit.

Deciding on shipping date and first auction

Finally, Mr. Yuya Fujikawa, JA Kitasorachi Fruits and Vegetables Department, announced the date of the shipment.

"The sugar content tests showed that Takada's apples had a sugar content of 12.8 degrees, and Sugimoto's apples had a sugar content of 11.4 degrees, so they will be shipped on Wednesday, June 11th, and the first auction will be on Thursday, June 12th," said Fujikawa.
